Hopper System for Biomass Processing into Biofuels

Overview

The biomass reception hopper system is an industrial solution designed to receive, temporarily store and continuously dose solid raw materials in the biofuel production line.

With 15 years of experience in the agitation and mixing solutions market, Agimix develops this equipment exclusively as part of integrated projects and complete systems. We do not provide isolated accessories, but rather the integration of the hopper with other robust solutions to form highly efficient Process Plants, ensuring that solids feeding occurs without interruption in your plant.

To optimize feeding time and provide fast and safe filling, our design often incorporates Rosca Transportedora (Chupim). When the raw material arrives in fractions, we use the Reception Hopper - Rasga Sacos, which makes the feeding of raw materials into bags faster, safer and more efficient for operators.

It is essential to highlight that, for biofuel plants that require large-scale storage, the Agimix provides the complete feeding and agitation system to be installed in the silo infrastructure that the customer already has. Our own reservoirs serve volumes of up to 10,000 liters, always focusing on high operational efficiency and cost reduction of the mixing and dosing process.

Frequently asked questions

Direct answers to the most common questions about this equipment and its application.

What is a biomass reception hopper?

The biomass reception hopper is an input equipment designed to receive and direct solid materials to the biofuel processing line. It acts as a temporary buffer in the system, ensuring that feeding to the reactor or mixer occurs in a controlled, continuous and uninterrupted manner.

Does Agimix sell the hopper or screw conveyor separately?

No, Agimix supplies this equipment exclusively as part of complete projects and systems. We integrate the hopper and Rosca Conveyadora (Chupim) to our Process Plants, ensuring the perfect and synchronized functioning of the entire production line.

How does the bag tearing system work when receiving solids?

The Reception Hopper - Rasga Sacos has an internal grid and a cutting system that facilitates the opening of industrial packaging. This makes the feeding of raw materials into bags much faster, safer and more efficient, reducing the operator's physical effort and minimizing material loss.

Do you supply the large storage silos for biofuel plants?

Agimix does not manufacture large storage tanks or silos for plants. We supply the complete agitation and feeding system, which is installed directly into the large-scale infrastructure that the customer already has, or we manufacture our own reservoirs for processes up to 10,000 liters.

What types of biomass can be processed in these systems?

Our complete systems are designed to handle a wide variety of solids, including wood chips, pellets, sugarcane bagasse, crumbs and grains. The design of the hopper inclination and the extraction system are calculated specifically for the rest angle of each material, avoiding jamming.

What is the advantage of integrating a chuck-type screw conveyor into the system?

The main advantage is the ability to optimize feeding time in complex industrial processes. The screw conveyor provides fast and safe filling, elevating the biomass from the hopper to the reactor with high operational efficiency and cost reduction for the plant.

How to avoid clogging of biomass during unloading into the hopper?

To avoid the formation of bridges or material clogging, the integrated system can be equipped with pneumatic vibrators or bottom agitators. The geometric design of the hopper is customized by our engineering to guarantee continuous mass flow, avoiding unwanted stops in production.

Do biomass reception systems meet industrial safety standards?

Yes, all of our complete process plant projects follow strict industrial safety standards (such as NR-12). The hoppers include robust protective grids, dust exhaust systems and interlocking sensors to protect operators throughout the unloading process.
